Layer Five is about the application layer of AI.

Jensen Huang describes AI as a five-layer cake: energy, chips, infrastructure, models, and applications. Four of those layers get most of the attention and almost all of the capital. The fifth is where the value actually lands, and where nearly everything still goes wrong.

I work at layer five. I’m a Solutions Director in Melbourne, working across Australian government, and enterprise on Microsoft and Azure. I spend my time on the questions that decide whether an AI system ships: what it’s allowed to do, how you know it works, who is accountable when it doesn’t, and whether it needed to be an agent at all.

This is where I write that down. Roughly fortnightly. No model release commentary.
